Inclement Weather and Travel

For up to date field conditions in HRM you can visit the HRM website: https://www.halifax.ca/recreation/facilities-fields/field-conditions

Player, coach and parent safety is paramount when considering travelling during inclement weather. When faced with inclement weather the decision for any team to travel rests with the coaches and parents of the teams. The League's interest is to see all scheduled games played and accordingly is clarifying the steps to be followed when a team chooses not to travel due to inclement weather.

Where a soccer facility is closed or the League cancels games, teams shall not travel and the League will do its utmost to reschedule the affected games.
Where a facility is open and the League has not cancelled a game and a team chooses not to travel due to weather conditions, the opposition team will be awarded 3 points unless the two teams involved jointly work out a new date, time, and location, which are approved by the League.
The teams will advise the League of the reschedule details which the League will review. The League reserves the right to deny any request to reschedule if it considers it necessary to do so.
The team/club who chose not to travel will assume all costs associated with the League approved rescheduled game (i.e. turf and referee fees). The reschedule becomes official when the League updates the League website.     Jan.17
