NSSL International Player Registration

The SNS Board of Directors has approved the following statements concerning participation in the Nova Scotia Soccer League by players that are not a)Canadian, b) Landed immigrants and c) Refugee claimant:

1. Soccer Nova Scotia competitions committee recognizes that the vehicles for teams advancing to Nationals are the Soccer Nova Scotia provincials.

2. Players who do not meet the criteria of 5.9.2 will be permitted to participate in the Nova Scotia Soccer League for the League's regular season. They will be ineligible to participate in provincial championships.

3.Soccer Nova Scotia competitions committee will re-introduce Provincial Championships for men and women and will enter into an agreement with the NSSL to host. This will result in 4 teams qualifying for each gender for the Championships. This includes the inclusion of wild card team(s) as specified in SNS policies. Wild card team players must comply with 5.9.2. in order to vie for an opportunity to participate in provincials.

4. Players that do not meet Soccer Nova Scotia's 5.9.2 will require an international transfer before being permitted to register with a club in order to play in the regular season of the Nova Scotia Soccer League.

5. The Soccer Nova Scotia Competitions committee review Policy 5.9.2 at its July meeting.

All players requiring International clearance are required to contact SNS for the necessary Application Form and fax it to SNS at 445-0258. SNS will immediately forward this to CSA. It should not be a long process but the CSA, which will provide such approval (by contacting country of origin) charges $ 200. SNS will invoice the player’s club.

Players must be internationally cleared to participate in NSSL league play.
